Rishi Patel, DMD

Dr. Patel is proud to lead the next chapter of this long-standing Waterford Dental practice, combining advanced dentistry with a warm, patient-centered approach focused on personalized care and lasting trust.
Born and raised in Oakland County, Dr. Rishi Patel is proud to serve the community he has always called home. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He then completed an intensive General Practice Residency at Kings County Hospital, a nationally recognized Level 1 Trauma Center, where he received advanced training in comprehensive dentistry, oral surgery, implant placement, and emergency care. Dr. Patel remains committed to continuing education, including advanced implant training through the Implant Pathway fellowship program.
Raised in a family of physicians, Dr. Patel learned early on that great care starts with listening. He takes the time to understand each patient’s goals, concerns, and long-term oral health needs so they feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their care. His approach combines advanced clinical expertise with genuine compassion to provide dentistry that feels honest, personalized, and thoughtful.
Outside the office, Dr. Patel enjoys fitness, traveling, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends. A lifelong Detroit sports fan, he also enjoys tennis and competitive golf, regularly participating in amateur tournaments at the local, state, and national levels.
Education & Training
Born and raised in Oakland County, Dr. Rishi Patel is proud to serve the community he has always called home. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan before receiving his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Pennsylvania, one of the nation’s most prestigious Ivy League dental institutions. In pursuit of furthering his education, he then completed an intensive General Practice Residency at Kings County Hospital in New York, a nationally recognized Level 1 Trauma Center, where he gained advanced training in comprehensive dentistry, oral surgery, implant placement and emergency care. Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Patel continues to pursue advanced continuing education, including extensive Implant training through the Implant Pathway fellowship program, to remain at the forefront of modern dentistry.
My Philosophy
Raised in a family of physicians, Dr. Patel developed a strong foundation in compassionate, patient-centered care from an early age. He believes exceptional dentistry begins with listening, trust, and building meaningful relationships with patients. Understanding that no two people – and no two smiles – are alike, he takes a thoughtful and individualized approach, carefully considering each patient’s goals, concerns, and long-term oral health needs. By taking the time to truly understand his patients, Dr. Patel creates an environment where individuals feel comfortable, heard and confident in their decisions. His philosophy is simple: combine advanced clinical expertise with genuine compassion to provide care that is honest, personalized, and focused on what is truly best for each patient.
Personal Life & Hobbies
Outside of the office, Dr. Patel enjoys fitness, traveling, exploring new restaurants, and spending quality time with family and friends. A lifelong Detroit sports fan, he has a passion for competition and enjoys staying active through tennis and golf. Dr. Patel regularly competes in amateur golf tournaments at the local, state, and national levels and values the discipline, focus and continual growth that competition requires. Those same values guide his approach to dentistry, where he strives to create an exceptional patient experience and deliver high-quality, personalized care.
